The Holiday Season is in full swing and many buyers and sellers are taking a break to enjoy this time with family and friends.
- Active Inventory dropped another 6% in the past two weeks. The fewest number of homes are placed on the market in December. Inventory will continue to plunge by year’s end and will hit a new record low upon ringing in the New Year. Last year, there were 131% more homes than today due to a delay in the Spring Market because of Covid.
- Demand plunged by 12% in the past two weeks. Such low inventory combined with the Holiday Market has sidelined many prospective home buyers. Many buyers are ultimately taking a break until the start of 2022 just around the corner. Last year, demand was 31% more than today with more inventory.
- Days on Market - With an enormous drop in demand compared to the smaller drop in supply, the Expected Market Time (the number of days to sell all Orange County listings at the current buying pace) increased from 20 to 21 days. At 21 days, it is an extremely insane, Hot Seller’s Market.
